With their linear folds and petal-like curved edges, bowls and platters from Simon Leah offer sculpture and function in one. While the bodies are made of marbled aluminium, the finials and feet are rendered in brass. “These fall under the umbrella of ‘Ungapatchka,’” Leah explains, “my long-term project exploring the excessively ornate – with a leaning toward the vulgar!”
