Modern sculptural illumination bends toward a botanical theme in Rosie Li’s Laurel Blossom 13 Chandelier. Inspired by ancient Greek jewelry spied during trips to the Met, this fixture pairs oval leaves in hammered brass with 13 small milk glass buds. While the blossoms wrap around a delicate branching frame in a gentle spiral twist symbolic of new growth, each leaf is informed by symmetry and shaped by hand to layer closely around the bulbs. Juxtaposing soft handmade elements with crisp machine-fabricated parts, this piece is an examination of the connections between nature and geometry.
