With the debut of the Aegis Chain Pendant, Lost Profiles Studio’s Oliver Wilcox furthers his exploration into cage-blown glass while making reference to the claw-and-foot motif of Victorian design. The glass is integrated into the claws, the LED is integrated into the
top of the cage, and the cage is integrated into the chain. This construction method makes use of slimline, low-voltage LED in a
way that challenges conventional lighting construction methods. “I enjoy the tension between cage-blown glass and the metal hardware holding it in place,” Wilcox explains. “I also wanted to push the boundaries of my practice with this work, and design something I’ve never seen before.”
