Jacqueline Kaytar is a Croatian Australian living on Turrbal and Yuggera country. Since beginning her creative journey in textile design over the last two decades, Kaytar has developed her stylistic vocabulary in the creation of objects and space. Working with natural materials such as flax linen, plant dyes, metals, minerals, and beeswax—all selected for their symbolic associations—Kaytar believes that matter, when imbued with human touch, becomes animate. Her most recent series, the Alter collection, unexpectedly combines sand-cast metal and beeswax linen to create sculptural light forms.
