Manon Steyaert is a French-British artist based in London whose practice is situated at the intersection of painting and sculpture. She uses non-traditional materials – think silicone, latex, and cellophane – to create both dynamic wall-based works and free-standing abstract sculptures.
Having initially thought her career would be in fashion, Manon finds inspiration from fabrics and their ability to create dramatic forms. When she drapes and folds a medium across a structural support, the result is a striking composition that emphasizes movement, abstraction, and action.
