Freedom Manchaha - LEV-781

Mere Sapno Ki Diwali
What do you love the most about the festival of Diwali? Maybe the vibrant lights, the atmosphere of joy, the boxes full of sweets, and the colorful decorations. But mostly, the time spent with family! Naresh’s Manchaha narrates the story of this vibrant festival but with a tint of sadness. He recalls that he was arrested for some ill-fortunate accident during Diwali and he was not able to be with his family during his favorite festival. Even though it has been 15 years, the fact that he can’t go home and visit his family during Diwali aches him. So, he decided to weave everything that reminded him of this sacred festival onto this carpet. He weaved the motifs of Shakarpara sweets, different firecrackers such as rockets, and Diyas (oil lamps) in this hand-knotted rug. With vibrant and intricate designs, he tried to showcase the Diwali decorations. Through this vibrant Manchaha, Naresh shares some of his most special memories and yearnings. He also asks everyone to spend as much time as possible with family and relish every moment with them.
