Laurent Martin “Lo,” a French-born artist and former creative director in advertising and fashion, has become renowned for his gravity-defying bamboo sculptures. These sculptures gracefully embody the organic material’s physical and sensory qualities, shaped through tension and fishing rods, and then dried in the Mediterranean elements. Inspired by the mathematical principles of movement and balance, his mobile sculptures transcend the bamboo itself, incorporating the intangible space within and the interplay of light and shadow.
